Learn moreKillarney and Tralee carry a very high number of hotel bedrooms. Sleeping risk is the highest-consequence category in fire detection, so those premises need the full I.S. 3218 regime, emergency lighting proven to I.S. 3217 monthly and annually, and extinguishers certified to I.S. 291.
Premises that run hard in summer and quietly in winter still accrue the same testing obligations. A system left unexercised through a quiet season is the one most likely to fail at reopening, so the schedule is set around that rather than around occupancy.
Processing sites bring washdown, steam and chilled storage. Optical detection fitted by default will nuisance-trip in those areas, and heat detection or a different technology is usually the correct answer.
Hotels and visitor premises in older buildings frequently cannot take intrusive cabling. Wireless and hybrid detection certifies to the same standard without damaging the fabric.
